Fear

Hi!  Leafa here with a post on Fear!

Fear sounds like a bad thing.  And it is.  It can paralyze you, muddle you, make you shy away from something that must be done.  But if you master it you will have accomplished something great indeed.

Quotes on fear--

"Fear stifles our thinking and actions.  It creates indecisiveness that results in stagnation.  I have known people who procrastinate indefinitely rather than risk failure.  Lost opportunity causes erosion of confidence, and the downward spiral begins." ~Charles Stanley

That's the bad results of fear in a nutshell.

"A person's fears are lighter when the danger is at hand." ~Lucius Annaeus Seneca

"Fear is static that prevents me from hearing myself." ~Samuel Butler

"The fear of becoming a 'has-been' keeps some people from becoming anything." ~Eric Hoffer

"Courage is on the other end of the bone of fear." ~Kathryn Lasky

That's true.  Without fear, courage could not exist; for what would we have to be courageous about? What tangles of fear could we brave?  None.  Fear strengthens character, and it has a little purpose--some things weren't made to be meddled with, and fear will keep you away from them--but too much of it can be a very bad thing.  It will muddle your thoughts and make you stand still, trying to consider through a fog of anxiety, like Charles Stanley said.  A little of it can make you see sense instead of blind courage or determination.

Sometimes, when I can't fall asleep, I'm afraid I won't fall asleep again.  Also, when I'm alone, I become afraid sometimes.  That is irrational fear; I mean, you're bound to fall asleep again sometime, right?  And when I'm alone, it's just my imagination I fear.  And that's nothing to be scared of.  I can straightway imagine a purring cat winding herself around my shoulders and a sleek, small border collie laying on my lap.  Would I be scared of that? Of course not!  Often it's just your imagination that terrifies you.  When that happens, well, read, or do schoolwork; or, talk to someone.  No, I'm not telling you to get psychological help xD You can talk to them about anything, and only if you want, what you're afraid of.

But if you feel rational fear. . .Distract yourself.  Take hold of the situation.  Or, if someone's already done that, offer to help.  Doing things will get your mind off of what's happening.  But if it's something you can't control, like you're afraid of a thunderstorm or a far-off war, distract yourself by doing service such as doing chores others would've normally done, taking food to others, or just cheering them up.  Or you can just do things that doesn't even help someone: garden, do schoolwork, read, play a game, and if you play music, play your instrument.  And if you're really afraid, just face your fears, explain it to yourself in your mind, and understand why exactly you're afraid and how you can help.

Hope you profited from this! :D:D

Respect ^.^

This is Leafa, posting on Respect.  I noticed the label Respect in the "Lessons" spot and clicked on it.  FrostWolf has "Respecting Nature" down, but I think I'll post on the value of respect itself.

Respect is where you honor somebody, like I honor their opinions can be transformed to "I respect their opinions."  Of course, honor is different, like a higher, more intense level of respect, but they're similar.

Respect is an excellent thing.  Having respect for another's values and traditions will win your traditions respect from that person.  It is good to respect your parents, the rest of your family, extended family, friends, teachers, and elders.  If you have respect for your teachers, you're more likely to win their good will and that good will can give you better education because the teacher will like you.  You should have respect for your elders because they are far wiser and more knowledgeable than you.

Have respect for your parents because they a) clothe you b) feed you c) educate you d) birthed you
e) they love you f) they respect you g) they give you presents h) they take you on trips i) they give you a home j) they let you go on the Internet and see this lesson k) they teach you manners l) they teach you respect m) they work hard to get money so you don't go into the poorhouse n) they try to ensure you have friends  o) they do some of your chores  p) they get a ton of luxuries for you q) they understand you r) they stand you.  The list goes to z and beyond that.

Respect your siblings, also.  If you don't respect them, it's not likely they will respect you, and thus you're more likely to be called names and be teased by them.

Have respect for your friends because they have deigned to be friends with you.  But I used deigned figuratively, because if they deigned to be friends they're probably not going to be the best friends xD.  But if those friends are nice, you ought to respect them and their values.  If they have peculiar traditions, respect those, too.

And, of course, have respect for your extended family because they are your family, and your parents want you to respect them.  Also, your extended family will want to like you and will want to respect you; if, of course, you like and respect them.

Earth Hour

Meep!
Sorry I didn't post before now, I didn't have time DX
Did you know today is Earth Hour day?
Well, if you didn't, I guess you don't know what Earth Hour is.
Basically, it's this: on the 23rd of March (this year at least) at 8.30pm (English time), people turn off their lights and electricity.
It's a sort of show-people-how-to-stop Climate Change thing.
Like this:
Eiffel Tower...
On the right, before earth hour. And on the left, during.
Big Ben...
Sydney Harbour...

Empire State Building...
Do you roughly get it? ^.^
Well, I'm participating anyway X3
But it's not just then that you should use little or no electricity! Every day try and use as little as possible! :)

Brain Fog

Hi!  Leafa here.  I intended this for my first post, but couldn't work up the courage; now I do, though, seeing as I've already down about four posts.

So, this post is on brain fog.  Brain fog is a dampening feeling, where your thoughts are clouded and you may feel depressed and weary.  It's happened several times, and it's not a good thing.  You're weary and indifferent and uncaring, possibly even angry.

Reasons for having brain fog are a) You've spent too long on video games, computer, TV, etc., etc., etc. . . . . b) You've read too long or done schoolwork too long.  It can dampen your thoughts a lot.

Steps to take if you have brain fog:

a) Stop what you're doing.

b) Go outside, play a game, read a book if you haven't already been doing that, or interact with others.

c) (optional) Eat a meal.

d) (optional) Round off with some wholesome physical work, like making beds, cleaning rooms, carrying groceries, or gardening.  Maybe you could help by doing laundry, the dishwasher, or miscellaneous housework.

Then you should feel quite fine! :) Meet others with a smile and make sure you don't do the listed causes of brain fog--unless, of course, you want to feel foggy! xD

Respect for Nature! :>

Hello, all! This is Frosty! I am going to be posting on. . .
Respecting Nature

God made every living thing on this earth, so how could we even think about hurting or disrespecting it? When people just kick around animals, and cut down trees for NO reason at ALL, it’s kinda’ like disrespecting God. See, if you like –I don’t know- drew all over a statue that someone made, it would be like doing it to the artist, and the artist that made all of us, and everything around us, is God.
I am SURE this is how the wildlife feels! My favorite is the one the squirrel is holding up! Lol! "I'm bitter about Litter" >:D And I AM TO!!

Have a great day!

Pride

Hi!  Leafa is here with yet another post. By the way, nice topics, Anika and Wolfskin!:)

My topic today is on pride.

Pride is where you are quite satisfied with yourself or someone else.  Pride is not necessarily a good or bad thing; if you become self-important, thinking yourself greater than others, it is bad.  But if you take pride in your work. . .Like taking pride in a good achievement. . .that's not a bad thing.  It's a good thing, because you will be encouraged to keep on going.  It's good to be happy with little, enjoyable things you do well with; it's even better if it's a large, important, worthwhile thing.  Pride is an excellent thing that can lead you to great heights with its encouragement and satisfaction. Take pride in other's good accomplishments, too, and say so, because that will make others like you.

However, if you let yourselves become the aforementioned self-important person, people will dislike you if you boast.  They won't want to be belittled by you.  And also being self-important will lead to you bullying, and that will lead to no friends and bad influence and habits.
So, to summarize: So do take pride in your work, and in other's work, because that will lead you on to greater heights and achievements; but don't "make molehills into mountains" (adapted quote :p) because that'll make you self-important.

Sorry for the larger words like 'aforementioned' and the rather complicated, serious demeanor.  It's because I've been reading A Little Princess--one of the best books I've ever read, by the way. :D:D

Thanks for viewing, and have a nice day! :D

Love.

What is 'Love'?
Many believe love is a sensation that magically generates when Mr. or Ms. Right appears. No wonder so many people are single......
Consciously or unconsciously (who knows....?) they, we, believe love is a sensatation that magically generates when Mr. or Ms. Right appears. And just as easily, it can spontaneously degenerate when the magic 'just isn't there' anymore. You fall in love, and you can fall out of it, just as many of us do.

So what is love ― real, lasting love? Love is the attachment that results from deeply appreciating another's goodness. The word 'goodness' may surprise you. After all, most love stories don't feature a couple enraptured with each other's ethics.

What we value most in ourselves, we value most in others. God created us to see ourselves as good ,hence our need to either rationalize or regret our wrong doings. So, too, we seek goodness in others. Nice looks, an engaging personality, intelligence, and talent may attract you, us, but goodness is what moves everyone to love.

If love comes from appreciating goodness, it doesn't just happen ― you can make it happen. Love is active. You can create it. Just focus on the good in another person (and everyone has some, even the thieves.) If you can do this easily, you'll love easily as well. The best way to be loved is to love.

Sorry for becoming so angelic. I just felt like I needed tell it. Also, I read some articles then this came up.

Hey!

Greetings! Wolfskin here and sorry for not posting! Finally, here I am. More about me.....I almost quit AJ, because I accidentaly recycled my grey worn which I had for 1 year. I love to sing, draw and listen to Linkin Park. I totally hate hate hate 'Bennoda' or 'Hahnoda' or any type of '-noda'. Calm down, Wolfy......Okay, I must, need to tell it. Haters kiss then date a bananna! So yeah, that's basically what I like and so. Also, I have big plans for the future. I wanna be a judge. Not at the X Factor, at the Supreme Court or what's it called in America. Bye! Glad to be a helper of the blog! Thank you, Frost.

Kindness and Charity

Hi!  This is Leafa, posting on Kindness.  No offense, but I'm slightly amazed that no one thought about this before, lol xD Just joking!

Kindness.  'Doing a kindness' means when you do something for another person, not because of a mutual need or an agreement where if you lose a game you need to do this for so-and-so.  You do it just out of the goodness of your heart.  Kindness can win others as friends, supporters, and if not those, people who respect you.  Three quotes are below that have to do with kindness--

"If you can't be pleasant, be as pleasant as you can."

“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.”
― Mother Teresa

“For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.”
― Sam Levenson

Kindness will brighten another's day, making them happy and cheerful and amiable.  That is how you gain friends from kindness.  And when you're unhappy, those friends will be there for you, loyal to you because of the kindness you showed them, and will give you kindness.  What comes from kindness is happiness.

And now for the charity part of my post.

Charity means giving as much as you can without making yourself too poor to buy what you need.  If a poor person that had only $30 gave $25 to a good, well-meaning charity, they give more in spirit than rich people who give thousands of dollars away to the same charity.  A multi-trillionaire can give away two billion dollars, and that will make a huge difference in the charity.  But that trillionaire can give away a trillion dollars without effecting their living style; it's like they gave $25 as much as it effects the trillionaire.  Sorry, that's veering off the subject a bit *looks away guiltily* Sorry about that.  But in my religion, we always give away 10% of our income to tithing, which is what we call charity.

Charity is very good.  It aids others, and it is a large aspect of kindness.

Thanks for reading, and have a nice day!:)

Pray

Hello! SilverDawn here to post on praying. :)

When you or someone you know is having a difficult time in life, then you can pray to God for help. It makes all the difference. God always listens and never forgets your prayers.

It doesn't matter if you don't have a habit of praying in your family. God loves everyone the same, and He will listen to everyone.

He may not answer your prayers immediately, but He will definitely answer them when the time is right.

Praying with faith makes all the difference.

Thank you for reading! :)

Truth

Hi!  Leafa here!  I thought I'd do a post on truth/honesty.

I suppose we're all familiar with the Boy Who Cried Wolf story?  Here is a summary of the story, in case someone has forgotten it:

The shephards assigned a boy to watch their flocks while they ate.  This boy wasn't very smart, and he was bored, so he cried "Wolf!" twice to see the shephards run down into the valley, looking for a wolf.  Both times they scolded him but both times he merely laughed.  But the shephards gave him a last chance.
But this time, a wolf really did creep down into the valley and try to attack the flocks.  The boy cried "Wolf!  Wolf!" as loudly as he could, but no one would come because they thought he was just making fun again.  So the wolf ran away with one of the sheep and the boy was scolded fiercer than ever for letting it happen.

There are two morals to this story: a) Never tease someone that carries a hooked shephard staff, and b) Never lie.  Well, sometimes you NEED to lie, in order to save your life or someone else's.  It's alright then, I suppose; and sometimes I've lied in a game called, "I Doubt It," because lying is necessary in that game.  But on the whole, with your parents, friends, and the rest of your family it's best to be truthful.  If someone is having a surprise party for someone else, and you don't want to let the person who the party is for know--well, just avoid the subject.  And don't let the habit of lying grow on you either; then, like in the Boy Who Cried Wolf story, no one will believe you, and in times of catastrophe nobody will help you; they'll just say, "Oh, _____ is yelling AAAGGGHHH again.  I wish he/she would hush up."
Truth be told, it's only a 17/83 chance that this will occur; but best to be on the safe side, right?

It takes courage to be truthful, too.  Like if someone is bullying you, and threatens to hurt you if you tell the truth about their bullying.  But don't be afraid to tell somebody.  The bully will be the one to get punished, and even if you get hurt, it will stop trouble for you in the future.  And also, if someone has a secret that may hurt somebody if it is kept, you may be afraid to tell if that person is a friend or member of your family.

And I hope no one else wanted or already posted on this, but, anyway. . . . .

My signature may not be the same as my usual one--well, the text may be a little smaller--because this is the computer that does not have my signature and so I had to make another one.

                                                                       ^.^

Hello! This is FrostWolf!
I am going to be posting on Cruel Dairy Farms! >:|
You are eating sick, drugged, infectious animals. They are put in disgusting  pens, and treated horible!
Cows are put in- well I can't remember the word right now- where the lights are always on, so the cows think it is always daytime, and do nothing but eat. They eat and eat and eat and eat, while their standing sometimes even knee high in their own scat.
Like that! But this one is pretty clean compared to some.
And look! A new born baby calf! The farmers are probably not even going to give a darn and leave it there to drown in the other cows' waste.
Now here is an example of a really dirty one:
I bet you that cow is dead. And I am pretty sure that is just a calf.
Oh- and calf's are taken away from thier mother less then a week since they've been born.
Now for Pigs.
Look! It looks like it is being cooked alive, but it isn't. Don't you wonder what in the world happen to his back? Just looking at that gives me chills.  .  .
The pigs grow up on slop, and then get sent to a big factory, and are let out of their pens to eat, but they are really running into a trap. The door quickly snaps shut, in less then two seconds are dead. I don't know if they gas em', or what, but the trap then flips over, and tosses the dead pigs.
Now here's the Chickens Story.
That picture says is all.
Once a day people have to go in those things with gas masks on, and pick up the dead ones. At least 20 out of a group that big would be dead.
Now, here are some pictures of healthy dairy and meat animals.
Muck better? Eh?
Well, I think that is long enough.
Thank you for reading!

The World

Hallo everyone!
Tortiesrock here! I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while on my blog and this one...
So I'm here to talk about the world.
It's cruel.
It's loving.
It's good.
It's bad.
It's anything you can think of.
I think that we could make a lot out of our world if we kept it clean, and treated it nicely.
I know, I sound like this environmental activist or whatever.
But our world is a poopy place right now.
Some many bad people, sad things are happening.
Some people want a utopia in the future
Some want a dystopia.
I sorta want both so the world won't be TOO perfect, or TOO messed up.
So ya...
Lesson: Even though the world can be poopy at times and you hate it, don't give up on it (unless you really need to)

Tree Hugging

Wow, not many people post on here now... o.o
Or even seem to be around... o.o
Well, I'm posting anyway! ^.^
This is the sort of post that you're either going to find totally weird, random, obvious or just "ah?".
Tree Hugging
What the heck's that, you ask.
Good question!
Tree Hugging is sometimes used as a derogatory thing to say about environmentalists.
But it's actually a form of...well...I'm not sure what exactly! X3
But it's been scientifically proven that tree hugging helps your health etc.

It keeps you in tune with nature. You get strength from the tree and it helps you if you're depressed.
In fact, all natural "green" things help!
Why not try it? ^.^
My uncle does this sort of thing - also talking to trees.
Not necessarily out loud - sort of thought-talking to them.
They reply, believe it or not.
And off you go, feeling totally refreshed.

Don't take my pics!

Smile

Hello! SilverDawn here!

I know several other people have posted on smiling, but I'm not saying exactly the same thing. :)

If you live in a town, you can just walk down the road to see a lot of people. But look at them closely. How many of them are smiling?

Not many, I'll guess. So smile at them yourself! :) Just as the quote above says, nobody needs a smile so much as those who have none to give.

Hope

Here are some hope quotes I found.  I was struggling to find a topic for a second post, and finally decided on hope.  Hope is a good thing, and it means for you

“When the world says, ‘Give up’, Hope whispers, ‘Try it one more time.’”
- Anonymous

“While there’s life, there’s hope.”
- Marcus Tullius Cicero

“There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something tomorrow.”
- Orison Swett Marden

“Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear. If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today.”
- Thich Nhat Hanh

Also, happy birthday, Kinyonga! :D:D:D I would've posted before, but I wanted a lesson to put in with it.

G'bye! :)

HI! This is Frosty! I am just re-posting this post! I don't think many people got to see it!

I am going to try to make you ALL smile today! LoL!
So. . . Have you smiled today? Well if you haven't, I don't see how any one could look at the picture below, and not smile!
Look at that baby elephant's smile! It looks like this is the best thing that has ever happened to him! Now that is the smile I want to pop on all of your faces!! >:D

Smile. Have you ever noticed how easily puppies make human friends? Yet all they do is wag their tails and fall over. ~ Walter Anderson
